Insane Now 04:24
And we'll lay in the sand, and we'll spoil the sky Holy shit what a view, wipe the dirt from your eye And the road has a voice, the most beautiful song As we crash in my car we'll be singing along The time is so short now, baby Are you sure you're ok? No it won't be long now, honey Is there something you're needing me to say? Hey now, hold me down before I float away It's all insane now, is there something you're needing me to say? 'Cause you are the sun, I look and I look away It's all insane now, is there something you're needing me to say? And we'll sink in the sea when there's nothing left to do I stare to the night as it's staring at you And we both grab ahold of the love and it's chains We don't read between the lines, and we don't feel no pain The pressure is on now, baby Am I slipping away Nothing's for sure now, honey Is there something you're needing me to say? Hey now, tie me down before I float away It's all insane now, is there something you're needing me to say? 'Cause you are the sun, I look and I look away It's all insane now, is there something you're needing me to say?

Open the tomb, look into my living room See you soon out there on the avenue Life of the party when I'm lost under a blue wave If I'm being honest I probably wouldn't want it any other way Life of the party, let me hide in the light of the stage Children playing in the street, I was them they were never me Boots click time on the cobblestone and I walk back to my nativity Life of the party when I'm lost under a blue wave If I'm being honest I probably wouldn't want it any other way Life of the party, let me die in the light of the day Victorian sunglasses over eyes of ashes Getting wasted in the shade under birch bark branches The sky turns violet, I life quiet A snow white kind of moon over my head Life of the party when I'm lost under a blue wave If I'm being honest I probably wouldn't want it any other way Life of the party

Water 03:24
Drifting daylight, maybe you were right Here we stand, I wind the clock with you Back to summer sky, summer's end, we can't go back to when The night was young, we were young then too Still it feels like home And I can't go back alone Still it feels like home When I'm with you on the ice cold water I'm with you in the red hot sand I'm with you on the ice cold water Your heart inside my hand Clear as day, thick as blood, we'll always have this love As sure as the sky, stars and moon Oh no, don't cry. The sun also rises To my eye it rises far too soon. Still it feels like home And I can't go back alone Still it feels like home When I'm with you on the ice cold water I'm with you in the red hot sand I'm with you on the ice cold water My heart inside your hand

Somewhere over the headlights, gazing into the sky My love lost the starlight, it just won't seem to shine I've got highway fever at low tide as I slow to the roadside Roundup's rising in farm land and the horizon is buried alive I was just a kid in a Freud Crown Vic, sitting with an idle motor Now I'm on the outside looking in, with my red lips turning over Landlords reign over darkness when the autumn begins Hands thrashing into the margins, like how the water rushes every inch I run on the sand in silence, marram bows in the wind I never made any good plans, but I figured I'd make the rent I was just a kid in a Freud Crown Vic, sitting with an idle motor Now I'm on the outside looking in with my red lips turning over And when they dug a blade into the Atlantic I was working at the mall for the summer I try to forget it and take it to the limit, get my red lips turning over I should have told you I love you so much sooner, I was too scared of another suffer I try to take it easy, give you everything in me, get my red lips turning over and over again

Any Colour 03:21
She could rain any colour, blue and gold Across the face of a mountain, any face in any crowd She could rain any colour, pink and green Any bird that would frighten any sun that could be seen I could drink every drink of yours that there was to drink I thought every thought that I never thought I would think Thanks to all of the laughter, thanks to all of the beer Thanks to all of my drunk thoughts that I conjured you here Still I find someway around it Searching for the door, I thought that I had missed it But it never had existed

I couldn't do any dances but I should have tried When I'm looking for answers, will you come on the line? Sunshine's travelling on, another blue jay has gone back in time to before you fell and the church bell chimed At the end of the eighties I put a scar on my eye You should be doing it lately, you should be the rolling tide. Sunshine's travelling on, another blue jay has gone back in time to before you fell and the church bell chimed Sunshine's travelling on, another blue jay has gone back in time to the middle of June when you were fine

Knew everything there was to know Gathered my disciples when the sky began to snow Preaching to masses though the microphone had broke Took a number when the skin was due to shed Whistled past the graveyard of the words that I had said Greener was the grass when the old tune had left my head Put our fists back on the shelf Showed up to the battle though no foe had rung the bell No one there was evil save the infantry themselves Another suffer left to leave, another vision to unsee Darkness will adore you when the daylight's but a dream Nearer was the ear I had to bend Shorter was the time left to be spent Greener was the grass when the old tune had left my head

String Band 00:43
And though the time we can see through The past does what it wants to do We tumbled through the seas to yesterday Though singing it is oh-so fun String Band already wrote this one We tumbled cross the seas and through the waves to yesterday

You followed me in my daydream, your face in black and white, Behind the light. I can't sleep but god I tried Every hour grows colder with every new grey cloud I listen for the mouse in the drywall of sound. Summer delay. When you went out I did the same. Morning came while I was under yesterday's rain I'm a latecomer turning the record over, but I try to leave side B til you're beside me - knees on top of knees Summer delay. When you went out I did the same. Morning came while I was under yesterday's rain When we met on your door step ... the weight of your eyes, Never closed never wide. They pushed back into mine. Summer delay. When you went out I did the same. Morning came while I was under yesterday's rain

See you at the station through the window's glare, Will you ever care to look up at me? Saw you in the basement where the liquor flows Where my lover goes into a dream How do I contain it as you sit across from me And the space that sits between us begging to be filled inches closer still? Then sing along with me Deep and wide at the other side, a heart don't mend for free Would we die if you ever tried to hold on tight to me? Saw you in the country yelling sailor songs As we sing along, you turn to me My dear boy I love you, til the love it ends Hold your heart and then sink in the sea Picture my amazement as the blood flows through the trees And the globe of snow that holds us Shatters everywhere Did you ever care to sing along with me? Deep and wide at the other side, hold on tight to me Still I try as the winds whip by, I said sing along with me See these eyes at the other side, then hold on tight to me While your mother's there, did you ever care enough for me?

Ibuprofen, fame and fortune Your drug store cowboy gets all the action Clouds are quick and full of passion I write the script for my delayed reaction Trying to fill the day without looking at my face I'm afraid I'm a fake What the winter takes no summer can reclaim I'm trying to fill the day Missed the check-in, I'm disconnected Hotel calls the house defective I'm losing you, that's the message I'm coming down like human wreckage Trying to fill the day without looking at my face I'm afraid I'm a fake What the winter takes no summer can reclaim I'm trying to fill the day Tomorrow clearly can't complain I am clearly much to vain Watch the ashes rise and settle again It all flashes by, only you remain Trying to fill the day without looking at my face I'm afraid I'm a fake What the winter takes no summer can reclaim I'm trying to fill the day

about

Baby God is the alternative-folk songwriting collaboration between Andrew Murray and Nathan Gill. Both hail from Prince Edward Island, and they bring the pop and indie rock sensibilities of previous music projects to the group’s stripped back sound. Baby God’s song-first approach and laid back production style keep their recordings candid and direct.

Their latest release, Another Suffer, is a breezy, homespun Sunday listen. It was recorded in a half-moved apartment in February of 2020. It sits in the isolation between the place you left behind and where you might be headed; a feeling that is bittersweet and immersive.

Another Suffer is the follow up to 2017’s Baby God. That self-titled debut found the songwriters both living away from home, after having left behind various relationships and bands, while pondering the idyllic, idols and idling.
